Hi Ash,

I was wondering if you would be able to install a patch select mod with a tap tempo switch on my Zoom B3.

Thanks,
Nick

Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to share your knowledge with everyone! I wonder if you would know how to make this software mod for my Zoom G5?

I'd like replace some of the virtual pedals' 'level' * * * with a 'mix' * * *. So for example on the Tube Screamer virtual pedal, instead of having a 'level' control that effects the output of my entire rig, have a 'mix' control so that I can blend in a subtle amount of distortion, or tremelo, etc.

PS, I'm on a Mac, if it matters. Thanks in advance!!! Jared

I very much do not believe that what you want is possible. If it is, it is beyond my ability.

Hi Ashbass,

Do you know if is posible put a little light or a led in someplace of the zoom g5 to show when the wah effect is activated or deactivated?

With this mod will not be necesary use one of the four bank to monitoring of this effect.

Thanks for sharing!
Franco

ashbass i cant see in the effecturator dynamics, modulations, filtereq, cabs, etc... only i see amp, drive, reberb this was because i asked you previously
im g5 owner

ashbass reply:
Ah yes. I missed something in your previous question. The Effectuator 2000 works because the items it changes all share the same options. All drive effects have the same options. All Amp modules have the same options. This makes it easy to make changes. But the other effect modules have each their own options. There is nothing similar enough about them to make it simple to change settings globally. So you only get Amp, Drive, Reverb, and some misc settings.

hi i want to know if tube affects the ring tone even when it is off , i ask this because i listen the sound of multieffect very low in all outputs options , even in direct, so i think maybe the tube is broken or change the original sound and i thing change tube by another more bright i hope you answer regards

ashbass reply:
I don't know if the tube affects the sound when Boost is off. I know that if you take out the tube the G5 will still work, except for the Boost of course. I use ElectroHarmonix tubes and like them. You can see how to find the tube in the mod videos.

There is an item on my zoom menu where someone tested the G5 on battery power with and without the tube. Even with the boost NOT on, having the tube installed ate about 5 hours of battery life than the G5 without the tube. So the G5 is using the tube for something. What? IDK

Hey ash

Is the a way to put B3 firmware/ FX in to the G3

ashbass reply:
Not that I'm aware of. Each firmware update file looks for it's respective pedal model before updating. Using the B3 updater on a G3 will stop when the updater can't find a B3 to update.

can you add the effect module and all modules like chorus in the effecturator 2000

ashbass reply:
Of course. That is why I created it. You can add any effect module and remove any effect model, chorus, flanger, drive, amp and cab, wah, reverb, all of the individual effect modules.

I like the description of what the Falbo mod does. Is it possible to use the mod on an SSS strat with two tone pots and is there a diagram somewhere of how to do it? Thanks again.

ashbass reply:
I haven't tried that but I don't believe that it will work. Since there are two tone pots both will be connected to the volume pot. So both will be live all of the time. At all times both tone pots will be affecting your system. The mod, as Frank set it up, is used on a single vol and single tone wiring. You could make the neck tone a master tone and that would work. You could use the middle tone control as a blender control.

Special thank you to you Ashley first for the great mods you offer all of us and for helping me get the mods figured out on my G3X!

I sent this to Jemsite, but don't know if I will get a response. This is regarding the discussion of the Falbo mod on Jemsite. I am replacing SSS strat pickups, pots, tone caps and installing treble bleed. I like what Frank says this will do and want to try it. I don't understand the mod diagram exactly. I assume the left pot is the volume pot and the right is the tone. I get the "small cap" is the treble bleed cap. I don't understand where the yellow and red wires go to from the volume pot lugs. The diagram makes it look like they are grounded to the back of the volume pot, but doubt that is correct. I realize the graphic was cut and pasted into the forum at some time and wonder if a clearer version is available.

I was going to install a Kinman treble bleed circuit(cap and resistor in series). Can I insert the Kinman circuit where Frank shows the small cap? Without unforseen negative consequences? The other thing I plan to do is isolate my last tone * * * to the bridge PU alone, also with a tone cap. Would that negatively affect the Falbo mod? Thanks.

ashbass reply:
In the diagram, the yellow wire is the input to the pot and the red wire is the output from the pot. In Frank's example an Ibanez type guitar is used and the input is coming from the switch--the pickup hot goes to the switch first and then the switch to the pot. On a les paul the pickup hot goes first to the pot and then the pot output goes to the switch. In both, the middle lug of the pot is the output lug and that is the one used for the mod. Using resistor with the capacitor is not needed in this mod. The resistor was used in the typical treble bleed to even out the pot's taper. With the falbo mod a resistor in series with the cap will not do anything for pot taper.

The mod works on the output of the volume pot as fed by a tone pot. Note: "a" tone pot. If you try to use two tone pots connecting to the same volume pot, at any time both tone pots will be live and affect the vol pot together. This is probably not what you want to do.
