Quick Truss Rod Cover Access
Comments
I tweak the truss rods on my guitars often enough that removing and putting back truss rod covers has become annoying. For my Ibanez guitars, I just put all the covers in a bag and screwed the truss rod covers' screws all the way down on the headstock; you can't get access to a truss rod much quicker than not having a cover installed at all.
But for my Gibsons, the TRC is a noticable part of the guitar (especialy the Flying V) and having them permanently off wasn't an eye-pleasing solution.

My Gibson TRCs are now only attached to the headstock by the top screw. I cut the threaded part of the bottom screws off and lightly glued the screw heads into their respective holes. This is pretty quick as I only have one screw per cover to remove/replace.

Once the screw is out, I move the TRC toward the top of the headstock.

Now it's easy to put my socket driver on the truss rod nuts for adjustments. It's also nice that I only have to keep track of one screw during the whole procedure.
