Epiphone pickup rings are honking huge.

I only have hands-on experience with Epiphone, Gibson, and Ibanez guitars so maybe I'm just missing something. But the Epiphone rings are wider and have a different mounting screw pattern than the other two makes. I can swap between Gibson and Ibanez with no problem. But the stock Epi rings just don't make friends very well. The over-large rings bug me so I replace them whenever an Epiphone becomes part of my herd.

I have a 1998 Korina 1958 Explorer that just got reset with Gibson rings. There is more of a gap now between the rings and the pickguard but I can live with that easier than those stock pup rings. Just needed to do a little mounting screw hole adjusting. The Epi mounting holes are hidden by the Gibson rings.
