G3 G5 True Bypass Tone
Comments Setting a multi-effects pedal's output to equal my straight guitar tone is always one of the things I do first. To do so with the Zoom G3 or G5 press the Global button in the row of buttons across the top of pedal. Then adjust the Level parameter and the Output parameter so that if you have a patch with no effects turned on the ouput is the same as your guitar direct to your amp. I use a small TrueBypass switch box that lets me switch the G3 and G5 in and out of my signal chain so I can compare my clean sound without the G3 or G5 to my clean sound with the G3 or G5 with no effects in use. The settings I like today are Level=100 and Output=Direct. The video below is of my G3. The same test with my G5 yeilded the same results. In or out of the signal chain, it sounds the same to me .
